A great general solenoid maintenance video from the guys at Cold Fusion, a great company. Most all solenoids come from the same supplier so this should cover about 90% of the solenoids on the market. Remember, the best insurance against the dreaded lean back fire (caused by noid sticking open or partially open) is solenoids that are well looked after. Also, on the Dry kits especially, the redundant solenoid is the best safety measure one can take. The only reason most companies don't include (NOS does on certain kits) two N2O solenoids is simply cost.

You should get some great insight on installing a dry kit, what ever brand you choose. This is a nozzle style dry install, and IMO at least on the LSx platform, is dated technology. However, many vehicles do not have an advanced enough computer to utilize the latest High-Tech after the MAF style dry plate kits.

  • Solenoid Remote Bottle Opener

This is a CF brand solenoid, but the premise is the same for any noid that is a bottle opener style. DO NOT USE A STANDARD N2O SOLENOID. Why? They are not designed to stay on and will get very hot, and at the vary least fail and/or blow a fuse; at the very worst they will cause a fire. I have used Industrial grade and you can see a picture in the install section on my '97 Vette. Also, the solenoid I prefer to use can be seen on one of the variations of my bottle installs on my Z06, it's the NOS brand an dis very heavy duty.
